“I love Obuasi; that’s why I use the name of Obuasi in everything I do,” said Collins Amo, CEO of Adroyɛ Herbal, during the Obuasi Inter-Community Soccer Gala organized by Obuasi Bitters and Time FM. The event brought together players, coaches, and community members in celebration of unity, talent, and progress within Obuasi.
Collins Amo explained that because he is from Obuasi, he wants to motivate the people of the city and inspire confidence in them to achieve their dreams. To show his pride and connection to the town, he names all his products starting with “Obuasi.”
He noted that the Obuasi Inter-Community Soccer Gala has improved each year over the past three years, from better organization to bigger rewards. This year, he and Meshack Okai, CEO of PN Media, planned to bring professional scouts to discover talented players who can be supported to build their football careers. According to him, helping these young players succeed will not only benefit them financially but also bring pride to the entire Obuasi community.
Collins Amo emphasized that the purpose of the Obuasi Inter-Community Soccer Gala is to promote the development of the city and strengthen unity among its people. He urged all participants and fans to accept the results peacefully, reminding everyone that they are all from Obuasi and should support one another with love, unity, and togetherness.
He also encouraged full participation from the public and revealed that the organizers plan to invite top artists to perform at the end of the year. Since Obuasi has no major festive event, this initiative brings joy to the people and boosts local trade among sellers during the events.
In addition to sports and entertainment, Collins Amo shared his commitment to social responsibility. Last year, he and his team supported about 1,000 needy residents with essential items such as rice, clothes, oil, chicken, and detergents. He ended by calling for continued community support, unity, and collaboration to make Obuasi a better place for all.
