Mr. Joseph Antwi, proprietor of Nana Wiredu Memorial School, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to take a new approach to corruption cases. He appealed to the government to recover stolen money before punishing those responsible. He believes this is the most effective way to restore national resources, rebuild communities, and support Ghana’s economic growth. According to him, when the government focuses on recovering stolen money first, the returned funds can be used to create jobs and improve living conditions for citizens.

Mr. Antwi stressed that corruption has become a major problem in Ghana, with many politicians caught in such acts facing little accountability. He said that if the government can recover stolen money from these individuals, it can be used to create jobs for hardworking young people who currently face high unemployment.

He added that the lack of jobs has forced many Ghanaians to travel abroad in search of better opportunities, even though the nation is rich in natural and human resources. Mr. Antwi believes that if leaders manage the country’s resources honestly and focus of creating jobs, Ghana can become self-sufficient and prosperous.

He concluded that the best way to fight corruption is not only to punish offenders but also to recover stolen money and use it wisely to develop the country, support the youth, and build a fairer and more sustainable future for all.
