Fada Murphy Lost Everything to a Politician After Returning from Canada. The musician from Obuasi shared his painful experience of losing years of hard work and investment after coming back home from Canada. According to him, the story of how he lost all his valuable property still hurts him today.
Fada Murphy explained that he spent many years in Canada hustling to make a living. When he decided to return to Ghana, he invested almost all his income into buying equipment. He purchased speakers, sound systems, mixers, live band instruments, big generators, chairs, cameras, canopies, and other electronics. His plan was to use these items for his own programs and also hire them out for events. All the equipment was fully customized with the initials FM, which stands for Fada Murphy.

Unfortunately, when Fada Murphy arrived in Ghana, he faced serious challenges. Because of the high upfront costs of the equipment, he had little money left. He could not retrieve his equipment from the harbor on time, and demurrage fees were placed on the container. This made it very difficult for him to clear his investment quickly.
Fada Murphy said he asked a politician for help to retrieve the equipment, but instead of assisting, the politician took advantage of the situation. Later in Kumasi, Fada Murphy saw his own customized equipment being used at a ceremony, with his initials FM clearly displayed. Shocked, he asked who owned the equipment and discovered that the politician was now in possession of all his items.
When Fada Murphy tried to confront the politician, he was told that the equipment had been auctioned and bought legally. However, this explanation did not make sense to him since the items were his personal investment. He further revealed that the equipment was of very high value. Back in 2002, people were hiring the equipment for 20,000 cedis per program, which showed the quality and the large amount of money he had invested.
Fada Murphy Lost Everything to a Politician After Returning from Canada, and his story remains a warning to young people planning to invest in Ghana. He shared this painful struggle during an interview with Nadia at PN Media studios.
