Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 elections, has promised that dismissed workers will be prioritized for jobs if the NPP wins the upcoming general elections.

He made this pledge during the NPP’s Thank You Tour in Takoradi on April 26, 2025, where he addressed party supporters and residents affected by recent job losses.

Speaking with deep empathy, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the struggles of workers who have lost their livelihoods.

“I know how painful it is to lose your job—your daily bread,” he said. “The NPP recognizes your sacrifices, and we are committed to bringing back hope and opportunities.”

Prioritized for jobs

He emphasized that the next NPP government will roll out targeted job creation programs to support those hardest hit by economic challenges.

“I assure you: in the next NPP administration, you will be first in line for jobs,” he declared, sparking loud cheers from the crowd.

The Thank You Tour is part of the NPP’s strategy to reconnect with voters and reinforce its vision ahead of the December 2024 polls.
