Eugene Kofi Amankwaa explains why he supports education in Obuasi with sponsorship and donations that continue to make a strong difference in the lives of young people. The CEO of Eugenmat Group shared that his decision to sponsor the winners of the Aseda Science and Maths Quiz to fly to Accra comes from his belief that investing in the youth is key to the future development of Obuasi.
He explained that his donations are meant to inspire people who succeed to always remember those at the bottom who are struggling. According to him, life is a journey where the same people you pass on your way up are the ones you will meet when coming down. Flying the quiz winners to Accra was not part of their official prize, but Eugene Kofi Amankwaa felt it would serve as both encouragement for the winners and motivation for other students. This shows how Eugene Kofi Amankwaa supports education in Obuasi beyond expectations.
The second-place winners, Apitikooko MA JHS, also benefited from his generosity. Although they did not receive an official prize, he reached out to them and discovered their needs. One student from a poor family requested support to buy provisions for senior high school, and was awarded GHC 2000. Parents of two other students requested a passport and a birth certificate, which he also promised to provide.
These actions highlight that Eugene Kofi Amankwaa supports education in Obuasi not only by rewarding academic excellence but also by addressing the real needs of students and their families. His commitment reflects a strong vision for the future of Obuasi, where education, empowerment, and community development go hand in hand.
