A gory accident on the Obuasi–Kumasi highway has left many passengers injured. The accident happened near Kwapia on the busy Obuasi to Kumasi road.
According to an eyewitness who was a passenger, the crash occurred after the driver of their vehicle handed control of the car to his mate, who appeared inexperienced. The passengers were traveling from Obuasi station to Kumasi, and surprisingly, the main driver was also sitting inside the vehicle while his mate drove.
The eyewitness explained that their vehicle collided with a car coming from the opposite direction. Although the driver’s mate tried to dodge, he could not avoid the collision, leading to the accident on the Obuasi–Kumasi highway.
Many are calling for stricter enforcement of road safety rules to prevent similar accidents in the future. Authorities are yet to confirm the total number of injured persons.
This accident serves as another reminder of the dangers of unprofessional driving and the need for discipline on the road.
