The Obuasi East Municipal is set to see big changes. The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kofi Adzowu, has announced a major project to build a 24-hour market. This new market will not only boost the local economy but also solve some of the area’s biggest traffic problems. The plan is to develop the municipal, making it as strong as its neighbor, Obuasi West. Thanks to the support from President John Dramani Mahama, this important project is now moving forward.

The new 24-hour market will be a big central hub for trade and transport. It will have a main lorry terminal to help with transportation issues. Currently, many drivers use small, unofficial stations near main roads like Tutuka. This causes a lot of traffic. The new terminal will bring all these cars to one place. This will reduce traffic and make things better for everyone. To further help with traffic, an alternative route is being built for drivers who are going to Obuasi West.

The perfect spot for the new 24-hour market was found at the Boete Timber Market. The location is good for a big project like this. Hon. Adzowu said that the people who use the timber market now have been told to move. An agreement was made, and they were given two weeks to relocate. The deadline has passed, and a new place has been prepared for them.

The new location is on the new alternative road, so the timber traders will still be able to do their business and reach more customers. Hon. Kofi Adzowu has promised to work for the people of Obuasi East with good character and peaceful intentions, even after his time as Municipal Chief Executive is over. This is because he believes in life after his position and wants to live peacefully with the people.
