The US Israel attack on Iran has escalated tensions across the Middle East after coordinated military strikes reportedly targeted several locations inside Iran, including the capital, Tehran. The joint operation, carried out by the United States and Israel, led to powerful explosions in Iran while retaliatory missile alerts and blasts were reported in Israel and several Gulf Arab countries.
Reports indicate that multiple explosions struck key areas in Tehran early Saturday, sending thick smoke into the sky. Iranian media confirmed impacts in central districts as well as northern parts of the city. Other regions across Iran also experienced strikes as the situation rapidly developed nationwide.
According to US officials, the US Israel attack on Iran was conducted as a coordinated military operation aimed at neutralising what Washington described as immediate security threats linked to Iran’s military activities. US President Donald Trump stated that American forces had begun what he called major combat operations intended to protect US interests and prevent future threats.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also confirmed Israel’s participation, saying the operation was designed to remove what his government considers a serious national security danger. Israeli authorities later declared a nationwide emergency as sirens sounded across northern parts of the country following missile launches believed to be fired from Iran.
Iranian officials strongly condemned the US Israel attack on Iran, warning that retaliation would follow. State media reported preparations for a powerful response, while senior officials announced that American and Israeli assets across the Middle East could become targets after the strikes.
Soon after the operation began, explosions were reported in northern Israel as air defence systems attempted to intercept incoming missiles. Emergency alerts were activated across several cities, forcing residents into shelters while authorities assessed possible damage.
The conflict quickly spread beyond Iran and Israel. Missile alerts and explosions were reported in Gulf countries including Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. Some nations temporarily closed their airspace as a precaution amid fears of further escalation.
Security sources confirmed that a facility linked to the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain was among locations reportedly targeted during retaliatory actions. Regional governments urged citizens to remain calm while defence systems were activated to intercept potential threats.
Communication disruptions were also reported in parts of Tehran following the strikes, making it difficult for residents to place phone calls. Iranian authorities moved senior leadership figures to secure locations as tensions intensified.
The US Israel attack on Iran follows weeks of rising disputes over Iran’s nuclear programme and ongoing negotiations that had failed to ease tensions. Military analysts believe the operation had been planned well in advance, with both air and naval forces involved in the strikes.
Across the region, embassies issued safety advisories urging citizens to remain indoors. Airports in Israel and several Middle Eastern countries suspended civilian flights, reflecting growing concern that the confrontation could expand into a wider regional conflict.
As global leaders monitor developments closely, the US Israel attack on Iran marks one of the most serious military escalations in recent years, raising fears of prolonged instability across the Middle East.
