Now Len Clay Sports Stadium has been left to decay in silence. This is a venue that once stood as a symbol of pride for Obuasi and for Ghanaian football. A stadium that hosted CAF Champions League finals, welcomed continental giants, and projected Obuasi onto the African football map. It had a proper media box, a fully equipped doping control center, and facilities that met international standards.

Today, that same stadium tells a painful story. The stands are rotting, the structures are crumbling, and the glory that once filled the air has faded. The floodlights have been destroyed by thieves, turning a ground that once shone brightly at night into darkness. What used to inspire young footballers now stands as a reminder of neglect.

Watching it fall apart hurts. History is being erased slowly, and if nothing is done, future generations will only hear stories of what Len Clay used to be.

This is sad. This is unacceptable. Obuasi deserves better.
