BAWA ROCK Limited has made a generous donation of GH₵200,000 to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) to help discharged patients who are unable to clear their outstanding medical bills. This kind gesture by BAWA ROCK is aimed at easing the financial burden on vulnerable patients and allowing them to return home after treatment.
Speaking in an interview, a representative of BAWA ROCK Limited said the donation was made on the instruction of their manager, Alhaji Bawa. According to the representative, Alhaji Bawa decided to support the hospital after hearing about the situation on television and also receiving a call from a doctor at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital who explained that several patients were stuck due to unpaid medical bills.
The hospital revealed that about 150 to 200 patients are expected to benefit from the donation made by BAWA ROCK Limited. Among the beneficiaries is a burn victim whose medical bill was GH₵6,000. The patient had stayed at the hospital for nearly two weeks because he could not afford to pay his bills. The support from BAWA ROCK has now made it possible for such patients to be discharged.
The representative ended by encouraging other individuals and organizations to support people in need. This charitable act is part of ongoing efforts by BAWA ROCK Limited, as the company has made similar donations in recent years. The company has previously helped clear medical bills at AGA Hospital and Saint Jude Hospital in Obuasi, among others, showing its continued commitment to supporting healthcare and the needy.
