The AGA Community Employment Committee has called for calm following concerns raised by Honourable Members of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly over employment at the Obuasi Mine. The committee is urging all parties to remain peaceful and allow dialogue to resolve the issues surrounding job placements.

According to the Chairman of the AGA Community Employment Committee, Mark Oti Akenteng, employment at the Obuasi Mine follows clearly defined procedures designed to ensure fairness and transparency.

Mark Oti Akenteng noted that the AGA Community Employment Committee is made up of representatives from key traditional authorities and local government leadership. Members include representatives of the Asantehene, Dompoasehene, New Edubiasehene, Akrokerehene, as well as Municipal Chief Executives from Obuasi East and Obuasi West, among others. This structure, he said, helps guarantee balanced decision-making in the employment process.

The chairman emphasized that respect must be shown to the Honourable Members who raised concerns. He assured the public that the AGA is committed to engaging all stakeholders to address misunderstandings and improve cooperation.
